I do all this for the sake of the gospel, that I may share in its blessings: QT for Fri Dec 1, 2017, read 1 Cor 9;

Though Paul knew what the Lord has said about his freedom as well as the rights as an apostle, he didn’t consider using those because of his desire to share the blessing of preaching the gospel and see as many as possible turning to Christ for a new life in Christ. He is volunteering himself to be a slave to everyone that he may lead them to the Lord;

· What could we observe about his conviction about God’s call for him from the way it impacted his whole life? See also Act 20:24 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

· What could we observe of the cause of his sacrificial life for the sake of his work for the Gentiles? See also 2 Cor 5:13-14 However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me–the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.

· What is God saying to you about your own attitude for the call to preach the gospel?

· Who has God led into your path that you may serve /share the love of the Lord? See also Jn 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?” “Yes, Lord,” he said, “you know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Feed my lambs.”

· What do you want to do in response to His call?

내가 복음을 위하여 모든 것을 행함은 복음에 참여하려 함이니: 2017, 12, 1, QT, 고전 9장을 읽으세요;

비록 바울은 사도로 이방인들 가운데서 일하며 자신의 자유와 권리에 대해 주님께서 말씀 하신 것을 알고 있었지만 자신을 통해 복음을 듣는 이들에게 조금이라도 부담이 되거나 복음사역에 장애가 되지 않도록 하기위해 자신의 자유와 권리를 사용하지 않고 어떻게 하면 복음사역이 가장 효과적으로 진행될지에 촛점을 맞추고 살았습니다.  

  • 복음을 위한 주님의 부르심에  대한 확신이바울의 삶에 끼친 영향에 대해 우리는 무엇을 관찰 할 수 있나요?  행 20:24 참조 내가 달려갈  주 예수 받은 사명 곧 하나님의 은혜 복음을 증언하는 일을 마치려 함에는 나의 생명조차 조금도 귀한 것으로 여기지 아니하노라 
  • 바울은 어떻게 그토록 적극적인 헌신을 복음 사역을 위해 할 수 있었을까요?  고후 5:13-14 참조 우리가 만일 미쳤어도 하나님을 위한 것이요 정신이 온전하여도 너희를 위한 것이니그리스도 사랑 우리를 강권하시는도다 우리가 생각하건대 한 사람이 모든 사람을 대신하여 죽었은즉 모든 사람이 죽은 것이라 
  • 주님은 복음을 위한 부르심에 대한 당신 자신의 태도에 대해 무엇을 말씀 하고 계실까요? 
  • 주님은 누구를 당신의 삶으로 인도하시고 당신이 축복을 나누도록 말씀 하실까요?  요 21:15 참조 그들이 조반 먹은 후에 예수께서 시몬 베드로에게 이르시되 요한 아들 시몬 네가 이 사람들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐 하시니 이르되 주님 그러하나이다 내가 주님을 사랑하는 줄 주님께서 아시나이다 이르시되 내 어린 양을 먹이라 하시고

What then is my reward? Just this: that in preaching the gospel I may offer it free of charge: QT for Thu Nov 30, 2017, read 1 Cor 9;

Though He has right to claim for support from the churches as God has commanded to continue to live through the provision from the proceedings of the preaching. Paul pursues that it would be most effective for the ministry if he offers it free of charge. God must have blessed his principle of ministry without soliciting support.

· What must have motivated Paul to offer such a service without expecting reward/compensation from men he ministered?

· What must he have done for his need that those he helped wouldn’t be burdened? See also 1 Thess 2:9 Surely you remember, brothers, our toil, and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.

· What could we observe of His conviction about his way of living as a reward? See also Phil 4:11-12 I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.

· What is God promising to you about His reward for your life as you seek to serve Him? Phil 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.

· How would you like to experience His provision in life? Phil 4:17-18 Not that I am looking for a gift, but I am looking for what may be credited to your account. I have received full payment and even more; I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.

바울은 사도로 부르심을 받아 복음을 전하며 살았지만 교회들로부터 지원에 의존하는 삶을 원하지 않았습니다. 그는 어떻게 가장 효과적인 방법으로 사역을 할지를 중요하게 여겼고 전혀 사람들에게 부담을 느끼지 않도록 자신의 손으로 일하며 복음을 위해 헌신하는 삶을 계속하였습니다.  

  • 바울은 어떻게 자신이 그토록 수고하며 도움을 받는 사람들로부터 보상을 기대하지 않을 수 있었을까요? 
  • 바울은 사람들에게 경제적인 부담을 주지 않기위해 어떻게 살았을까요?  살전 2:9 참조 형제들아 우리의 수고와 애쓴 것을 너희가 기억하리니 너희 아무에게도 폐를 끼치지 아니하려고 밤낮으로 일하면서 너희에게 하나님의 복음을 전하였노라 
  • 그는 복음을 위해 헌신하며 어떤 주님의 은혜를 경험 하였을까요?  빌 4:11-12 참조 내가 궁핍하므로 말하는 것이 아니니라 어떠한 형편에든지 나는 자족하기를 배웠노니나는 비천에 처할 줄도 알고 풍부에 처할 줄도 알아 모든 일 곧 배부름과 배고픔과 풍부와 궁핍에도 처할 줄 아는 일체의 비결을 배웠노라 
  • 주님은 당신의 필요에 대해 무엇을 약속하고 계실까요?  빌 4:19 참조 나의 하나님이 그리스도 예수 안에서 영광 가운데 그 풍성한 대로 너희 모든 쓸 것을 채우시리라 
  • 당신은 어떻게 주님의 공급하심을 경험하기 원하세요?  빌 4: 17-18 내가 선물을 구함이 아니요 오직 너희에게 유익하도록 풍성한 열매 구함이라 내게는 모든 것이 있고 또 풍부한지라 에바브로디도 편에 너희가 준 것을 받으므로 내가 풍족하니 이는 받으실 만한 향기로운 제물이요 하나님을 기쁘시게 한 것이라 

But we did not use this right. On the contrary, we put up with anything rather than hinder the gospel of Christ: QT for Wed Nov 27, 2017, read 1 Cor 9;

Paul was thinking that he has been working much more than other apostles, suffered much more than those others for the Lord as an apostle of the Lord Jesus. Yet, he is saying that he didn’t use any of his rights as an apostle so that nothing might hinder the progress of the gospel he preached among the Gentiles;

· What could we observe about Paul’s heart from the way he refused to be a burden on the people he was ministering to? See also 1 Thess 2:9 Surely you remember, brothers, our toil and hardship; we worked night and day in order not to be a burden to anyone while we preached the gospel of God to you.

· What has been the motive of his ministry to those people in such sacrificial way? See also 1 Thess 2:7-8 but we were gentle among you, like a mother caring for her little children.We loved you so much that we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well because you had become so dear to us.

· Who has the Lord placed in your path that you may help him to grow with the love of Christ?

· What is God saying to you about your own attitude toward the people God has placed under your care? See also 1 Jn 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

· What do you want to do with him/her in response to His voice?

그러나 우리가 이 권리를 쓰지 아니하고 범사에 참는 것은 그리스도의 복음에 아무 장애가 없게 하려 함이로다: 2017 11, 29, 수, QT, 고전 9장을 읽으세요; 

바울은 이방인들 가운데 복음을 전하며 자신이 다른 사도들보다 더욱 많이 수고를 하고 있다고 생각하였고 그들보다 더 많은 고난을 복음을 위해 받고 있다고 생각하였지만 주님께서 그에게 주신 사도의 권리/ 자유를 자신이 전하는 복음에 장애가 되지 않도록 하기위해 한 가지도 사용하지 않았다고 고백합니다.  

  • 바울이 복음을 전하며 주변 이들에게 부담을 주지 않으려는 태도를 통해 우리는 그의 마음에 대해 무엇을 관찰 할 수 있나요?  살전 2:9 참조 형제들아 우리의 수고와 애쓴 것을 너희가 기억하리니 너희 아무에게도 폐를 끼치지 아니하려고 밤낮으로 일하면서 너희에게 하나님의 복음을 전하였노라 
  • 바울은 무슨 동기로 그토록 희생적인 사랑을 베풀수 있었을까요?  살전 2:7-8 우리는 그리스도의 사도로서 마땅히 권위를 주장할 수 있으나 도리어 너희 가운데서 유순한 자가 되어 유모가 자기 자녀를 기름과 같이 하였으니 우리가 이같이 너희를 사모하여 하나님의 복음뿐 아니라 우리의 목숨까지도 너희에게 주기를 기뻐함은 너희가 우리의 사랑하는 자 됨이라  
  • 주님은 당신의 삶 가운데로 누구를 인도 하시고 당신이 돌보도록 하셨을까요?   
  • 주님은 그/ 그녀에 대한 당신의 태도에 대해 무엇을 말씀 하고 계실까요?  요일 3:16 그가 우리를 위하여 목숨을 버리셨으니 우리가 이로써 사랑 알고 우리도 형제들을 위하여 목숨을 버리는 것이 마땅하니라 
  • 당신은 주님의 음성에 응답하여 그/ 그녀에게 무엇을 하길 원하세요? 

 

For it is written in the Law of Moses: “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.”: QT for Tue 28,17, read 1 Cor 9; Paul and Barnabas must have been treated somewhat unfairly by the churches as if they didn’t have equal standing with other apostles who have been acknowledged by churches. He is defending their credibility for the sake of the ministry of the gospel; · What could we observe about the way God has established the system for the livelihood for the Levites and the priests? 모세의 율법에 곡식을 밟아 떠는 소에게 망을 씌우지 말라 기록하였으니: 2017, 11, 28, 화 , QT, 고전 9장을 읽으세요;  

바나바와 함께 이방인들 가운데 복음을 전하며 바울은 교회들로부터 불공평한 비판을 받았고 그것이 복음사역에 방해가 되는 것을 보며 자신들이 베드로나 다른 고회들이 인정하고 지원하는 사도들과 같은 자격과 권리를 가졌다는 것을 설명합니다.  

  • 하나님께서 자신을 섬기는 레위인들과 제사장을의 생계를 위해 마련하신 제도에 대해 우리는 무엇을 관찰 할 수 있나요?  민 18:20-21 참조

  • 여행을 위하여 배낭이나 두 벌 옷이나 신이나 지팡이를 가지지 말라 이는 일꾼이 자기의 먹을 것 받는 것이 마땅함이라  
  • 바울이 자신이 마땅히 주장할 수 있는 권리를 기꺼히 포기하는 것을 통해 우리는 그의 인격에 대해 무엇을 관찰 할 수 있나요?  고후 12:14 참조 보라 내가 이제 세 번째 너희에게 가기를 준비하였으나 너희에게 폐를 끼치지 아니하리라 내가 구하는 것은 너희의 재물이 아니요 오직 너희니라 어린 아이가 부모를 위하여 재물을 저축하는 것이 아니요 부모가 어린 아이를 위하여 하느니라

Even though I may not be an apostle to others, surely I am to you: QT for Mon Nov 27, 2017, read 1 Cor 9;

Paul is facing questions about his credibility as an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ even from the people he has ministered to. And he is defending his apostleship. He is claiming the same rights that other apostles such as Peter has been enjoying from among the churches around;

· What could we observe about Paul’s encounter with the Lord Jesus he mentions about? See also Act 9:5-6

“Who are you, Lord?” Saul asked. “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,” he replied.

“Now get up and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.”

· What could we observe about the way God has confirmed his apostleship through other disciples such as Ananias? See also Act 9:15-16 But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before the Gentiles and their kings and before the people of Israel. I will show him how much he must suffer for my name.”

· What is Paul saying to those Corinthians about the proof of his own apostleship in regards to his ministry for them? See also 1 Cor 4:15 Even though you have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

바울은 사람들로부터 자신의 사도로서의 자격에 대한 비판과 도전을 직면하며 담대하게 자신에 대한 변호를 하고 있습니다. 그러면서 자신과 바나바가 사도들로 일하며 베드로처럼 교회들로부터 인정과 지원을 받을 자격이 있음을 주장하고 있습니다. 그린도 인들 자신이 그의 사역의 열매였던 것을 지적하고 있습니다.
